A serving soldier from York has appeared before a court martial after refusing to return to Afghanistan.

L/Cpl Joe Glenton, 27, of the Royal Logistic Corps, faced the preliminary hearing at a martial court in Wiltshire accused of desertion.

The soldier did not enter a formal plea but his defence counsel Hugh O'Donoghue indicated he would deny the charge.

On Thursday L/Cpl Glenton gave a letter to the prime minister calling for troops in Afghanistan to be withdrawn.

In his letter he claimed the war in Afghanistan is being fought in the interests of US foreign policy.

Expert witnesses

Having joined the Army in 2004, he went Awol in 2007 before handing himself in after two years and six days.

He has been on leave until today when he returned to his regiment.

Mr O'Donoghue told the court that he may call an expert witness to give evidence on the lawfulness of war in Afghanistan.

Military prosecutor Captain Gemma Sayer said she would also be calling witnesses, mostly sergeants, who are currently serving in Afghanistan and Kuwait.

The prosecutor said they were also considering an additional charge connected to the alleged desertion and that L/Cpl Glenton would be interviewed by military police.

Judge Advocate Alastair McGrigor adjourned the case to 4 September for another preliminary hearing.

L/Cpl Glenton will now return to normal duties with his regiment at his base in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

Don't Argue with Fools. People from a distance cannot see who is who. Family up close can't see much either...they got blinders on. They find the shortest distance between what they want and whats going on to be that you are crazy. That's cool.

I'm finding more and more the people who call people crazy are the ones I should not speak to...and they end asking questions all the right questions later. Everyone has a different set mind frame that sometimes resists the penetration of truth. They believe everything to be lies and include you.

They wish for things to remain simple. They wish to cognitively dismiss. No Matter. Really. Don't let it get to you or they will lock you up. In the basement, forget prison.

Practice softness with those you love, especially about your passions. When you have sheep as family members it happens that there is simply a lot of jealousy going around. Really, sometimes it's so deeply rooted and hidden the only way to expose it is to get an outside opinion or ask the person directly. Unfortunately most of our family's have friends in the world that reinforce anything. And professionals. And professional friends, oh my. Goodness isn't that sky blue today! I cannot disagree...

They tell us things specifically like; "That's your opinion and I'm entitled to mine" and then a sentence later "I'm concerned about you, and you give me no way to do anything about it". But they cut you off halfway about how awesome the new scientific evidence is that came out April 10th about Nano-Thermite...The hypocrisy is apparent for Truthers. And we love our family. People who are peaceful and righteous all do this for the kids on some level, even their inner ones.

We end up arguing with Mom and Dad about the House being on fire, whilst staying inside to suffocate with them. We scream at our siblings to take their hands off the stove, and they tell us its the best way to feed the kids by burning this really pretty spiral in our hands...see look! The System has been invited to get on this big ARK, in fact become the Arc to bridge over these troubled waters. If the whole city is on stilts floods can come and go. Lets Elevate!

I don't want to Travel across Canada Truthing for a whole year...

Really it will be fun. But I would much rather not make movies about the people I'm talking with about 911. I would just talk about the weather on any given day with every person I see. Hey you, Check out this weather! Isn't it great. Never ends eh! Weather Weather everywhere. Oh how nice or not nice it is...lets stand around and discuss this for 10 minutes about how I think its great cause its raining and you think its ok...yea yeah we need it...sure is gloomy there with those clouds....boom, lightning flashes...we get drenched. It starts to let up and we thank God...the sun breaks through the 6 thunder clouds that just moved a bit, and wow two rainbows...never seen that before, or have we. We look at each other, "How about that Weather!".

Thank heaven for human connection. Thank something for 911. Conversation is integral. It helps to soften the blow of being responsible in this world for a body. How you converse, and quite often weather you converse with others has a huge effect on the world as a whole. There are almost 8 billion on this planet and we are all connected by such short degree's it is staggering. You need us! Interdependency makes the world go round.

I invited Obama to come see me in Being Change Episode 3. I am a dreamer. I like to imagine anything is possible. Then when I get halfway it doesn't seem like I got where I was looking, but looky where I am! Omaba, look where you are guy! Pull a JFK before it's too late. Make me cancel the grasshopper media trip....please!
